Supplements as skincare: Murad launches supplements, and we’ve got answers to all your FAQs
Remember to consult a medical professional before starting any supplement regimen, if you have any questions!
After years of research and clinical testing rooted in our dermatology heritage, we’ve joined the world of skincare supplements! Whether you choose the Bright & Even Supplement to brighten and add radiance; the Youth Renewal Supplement to smooth, firm and reduce lines; or the Clear Skin Supplement to help eliminate acne, here are the answers to all the hot topics we’ve heard.
Are Murad Supplements non-GMO, vegan, free of artificial colorants and gluten-free?
Yes!
Why is there a tablet inside a gel capsule?
We pioneered the advanced tablet-in-capsule technology (the first of its kind in the skincare industry) to allow for better potency, absorption and delivery of skin-improving ingredients for hydration and targeted skin concerns. This technology also allows fat- and water-soluble ingredients to co-exist in one easy-to-swallow pill—all without questionable additives, fillers or colorants.
How long will one bottle last?
One bottle contains 60 capsules. Take 2 pills a day and your bottle will last 30 days.
How long do I need to take these supplements to see results?
Participants in our clinical trials started to see results after just one month! However, it can take up to 3 months to see results—but this isn’t much different than any topical skincare regimen! (Results may vary.)
I want to tackle different skin issues at once. Can I take different Murad Supplements at the same time?
We recommend focusing on one supplement regimen so you can see results that align to our clinical results.
After I see results, should I continue to take the supplements?
Great question, and yes! Like any skincare regimen, daily maintenance is essential to skin health.
Why does the gel vary in color?
It’s perfectly natural to have slight variations in color due to our use of plant-derived ingredients and botanicals. Our ingredients are standardized to ensure potency and efficacy from pill to pill and bottle to bottle, and the color variation doesn’t impact safety or performance.
Can I take these supplements if I’m already taking a multivitamin?
Our supplements follow the recommended daily value intake of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. While our supplements have undergone rigorous testing for efficacy and safety, we know the most personal and accurate advice comes directly from your physician. Always consult a medical professional before starting any supplement or wellness regimen.
Do I need to consult with my doctor before taking supplements?
While our supplements have undergone rigorous testing for efficacy and safety, we recommend speaking to your doctor before starting a supplement regimen.
Can I take these supplements if I have allergies?
While our supplements have undergone rigorous testing for efficacy and safety, we recommend speaking to your doctor before starting a supplement regimen.
Can I take these supplements while pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or while breastfeeding?

Can I take these supplements that contain vitamin A if I’m also using a topical vitamin A treatment?
While our supplements have undergone rigorous testing for efficacy and safety, we recommend speaking to your doctor before starting a supplement regimen that contains vitamin A to determine if a vitamin A supplement is right for you.
Can I take these if I’m under the age of 18?
While our supplements have undergone rigorous testing for efficacy and safety, we know the most personal and accurate advice comes directly from your physician. Always consult a medical professional before starting any supplement or wellness regimen.
Will these supplements work better if I follow a skincare regimen?
Yes! Dr. Howard Murad, board-certified dermatologist, pharmacist and founder of Murad Skincare says, “Treating the skin as an isolated component of the body is like using a small brush to touch up the paint on a house with a bad foundation.” That’s why, for more than 30 years, he’s advised his patients to look at skin health as a 3-part strategy that includes topical skincare, emotional skincare, and internal skincare via supplements and nutrition. Together, these strategies help promote the health of your cells for healthier-looking skin.

What kind of clinical research and safety testing do you do?
We’re glad you asked, because we put our new, premium supplements—not just their ingredients, but the entire formula—through intensive safety and clinical research processes to prove their potency, purity and performance.
We have conducted rigorous 4, 8 and 12-week clinical trials with an external third party to guarantee results. These results are overseen by an FDA-registered Institutional Review Board (IRB) that has the authority to approve clinical research results and oversee protocols for the rights and welfare of our participants.
Murad’s research and development department ensures that that all supplements conform to appropriate standards of quality and are safe and suitable for their intended use. Our supplements are manufactured in the USA and formulated in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) as required by the FDA.
All our supplement ingredients are certified GRAS safe (the FDA standard); the formulas have been reviewed by a third-party safety assessor, and each ingredient is quality assurance tested/inspected for identity, purity and composition.
